Many local organizations and community networks have youth guides to non-military futures that specifically list the resources available in a particular city or state. Contact local peace groups to find out if such a resources exists in your area.
Many cities also have local youth employment programs, such as American Youthworks in Austin, Texas. Contact your local city hall to find one near you.
